Rules & Regulations

Disciplinary Measures

The following disciplinary measures may be adopted by the school in dealing with students behaving in an unruly manner and / or breaching schools disciplinary code/rules.

  • Oral warning and counselling
  • Written warning
  • Detention during the break or on working Saturdays & or denial of school bus service upto 30 days.
  • Suspension
  • Transfer Certificate from the school

Students indulging in aggressive or very violent behaviour will be dropped to and picked up from the school by their parents. They will not be permitted to travel by school bus.

Special Rules

  • Student should carry his / her Almanac to school every day.
  • Parents are requested to avail of the school bus facilities for their children.
  • Class Teacher's Period (CPT) signals all to go to their respective classrooms, in an orderly manner and with silence. Students must prepare for the class assembly as soon as they are in their classes.
  • Students should move in an orderly way while changing classrooms without creating any disturbances for other classes. School Bags are not to be carried while changing the classrooms.
  • The students are strictly advised to use school bags with a school monogram, available at the School Bookstore.
  • Students are supposed to come to school neat and clean, wearing proper school uniforms. Students entering the school premises (other than any special occasion or event) without the appropriate uniform will face disciplinary action. They will not be allowed to attend classes or be sent home.
  • Boys (other than Sikhs) should keep short hair adequately trimmed.
  • Students are not allowed to bring any sharp instruments to the School.
  • No book (other than textbooks or library books), magazine, or paper is to be brought to school without the Class Teacher's permission.
  • Students are advised not to engage in a financial transaction or any activity involving lending, borrowing, or related to money inside the school premises.
  • Students whom attendants accompany to the school should never leave school alone. In case of a delay, they should report to the School Office. Students must be picked up punctually after school hours. The School is not responsible for the students beyond the school premises.
  • The school reserves the right to issue TC to students on the ground of interdisciplinary activities.
  • Any student repeating a particular class for two consecutive years will be issued TC as per the CBSE Rules.
  • Bursting crackers or splashing colours during Diwali/Holi or any other occasion on the school premises or school buses is strictly forbidden. Non-compliance with these instructions can result in expulsion from the School.
  • Students should attend all festivals and functions that are celebrated in the school.
  • Parents of students availing of the school bus must seek prior written permission from the Principal if they want to take their wards home with them after the school hours.

Code of Conduct (GC)

  • ALL STUDENTS AND THEIR PARENTS ARE BEING INFORMED THAT, UNDER THE CBSE DIRECTIVE, EVERY STUDENT WILL BE ASSESSED ON DISCIPLINE WHICH WILL BE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING FACTORS: ATTENDANCE, SINCERITY, BEHAVIOUR, VALUES, TIDINESS, RESPECT FOR SCHOOL RULES & REGULATIONS, ATTITUDE TOWARDS SOCIETY AND NATION. Hence, please ensure that all the rules given below are diligently complied with.
  • Students should be polite and disciplined wherever they go. They should always remember that the school is judged by the conduct of its students. They should greet all the teachers whenever and wherever they meet them. Bullying, use of foul language and vulgar behaviour will lead to strict action.
  • They should take good care of their health and keep themselves physically fit and strong.
  • They should never be cruel and should know that cruelty is the trait of a bully while kindness is the mark of a gentleman (Gender biased). Bullying is strictly prohibited inside the school premises and no such act will go unnoticed or unpunished. Depending on the gravity of misconduct, corrective measures will be taken as per school’s guidelines.
  • They should always accept and complete whatever work is assigned to them.
  • They should face difficulties courageously and confidently.
  • They should always be ready to lend a helping hand at home to their parents, brothers and sisters; in school to teachers, companions and any unattended visitor whom they happen to meet on the school premises.
  • They should never cheat, be unfair, steal from others or borrow others’ belonging without taking permission.
  • They should stand when any teacher or a visitor enters the classroom.
  • They should be truthful.
  • They should respect the aesthetics of the classroom and of the school premises and report to the teachers of any damage caused.
  • They should never hesitate to say ‘NO’ when asked or tempted to do a thing, which they know is wrong.
  • They should respect the liberty and rights of others.
  • They should keep their classrooms clean and take care of the school furniture.
  • Instead of lamenting and grumbling over the evils of the world they should try to contribute in bringing about positive changes to make this world a better place.
  • They should look upon people from all parts of the world and all walks of life as their brethren irrespective of their caste, colour and creed.
  • They should not waste their time in idle gossip.
  • They should take pride in wearing their school uniform. They should not wear the school uniform in any public place outside school, without prior permission.
  • No shouting or whistling is allowed in or around the school building. Running in corridors is strictly prohibited.
  • Throwing things outside the window, physically hurting anyone inside the classroom, in the corridor or outside the school, throwing any object at anyone is strictly forbidden.
  • Hair must be regularly trimmed. It must not cover the forehead or touch the collar. Girls must tie their hair in neat ponytails or plaits.
  • Blazer and tie are part of the winter uniform and must be worn.
  • The almanac and school identity card must be brought everyday.
  • Students must not litter classrooms, subject rooms, laboratories and corridors.
  • They should be proud of their Alma Mater.
  • Students need to take permission in writing, to carry a camera to photograph school activity inside the campus. They are not allowed to upload any such photograph (On social media). Any student indulging in such an activity on the social media will face disciplinary action.

Leave / Absence Rules

Parents and guardians will appreciate that absence during the term is not in the best interest of the student. They are asked not to apply for leave if avoidable, but a proper leave application has to be submitted under any circumstances. Leave can be granted to the student only on the following grounds:

  • In case of serious illness or demise of a very near relative.
  • To attend the marriage of his / her sibling, uncle or aunt.
  • Any other occasion deemed fit by the school authorities.
  • Leave will be not be granted for more than four days.

No student who has been absent on the previous day will be allowed to attend class until the parent fills up the “Record for Non-Attendance” for each day the student has been absent from school, stating the reasons for absence.

A student, returning to school after recovering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s fitness certificate permitting him / her to do so. Students suffering from the following diseases must observe the prescribed period of quarantine before returning to school:

  • Chicken Pox - Till the scabs fall off completely.
  • Cholera - Till the child has completely recovered.
  • Measles - Two weeks after the rash disappears.
  • Mumps - Until the swelling has gone; about one month.
  • Whooping Cough - Six weeks.
  • Jaundice - Six weeks.

Students who require medical attention during school hours, will be sent to the school infirmary with the concerned teacher’s signature on the “School Infirmary Record”.

Repeated absence without leave or unexplained absence for more than six consecutive days renders the student liable to have his / her name struck off the rolls. Re-admission may be granted solely at the discretion of the Principal and only after payment of a fresh admission fee.

The students are required to seek written permission for leave prior to the commencement of the leave. In case the leave is taken on medical grounds, an authentic medical certificate has to be produced.

Leave for half day is not allowed at all, for security reasons. In emergency however, written permission for leave must be taken from the Principal / Vice Principal / Co-ordinator / Headmistress / Headmaster. The Class Teacher and the Bus In-charge should be informed, in case the student is availing the School transport facility.

It is compulsory for the students to maintain at least 75% attendance in each semester. The percentage can be relaxed only on genuine medical grounds.

If a child is absent continuously for more than three days due to medical reasons, then a letter from parents must be accompanied by a medical certificate. A letter has to be submitted positively to the class teacher in case of any absence.

The management of the school reserves the right to alter/change the school timings as and when the circumstance warrants.

Late Arrival in School

The school gate will close as per the time mentioned in the school notice board.

Students arriving late will not be allowed to enter the school. Necessary disciplinary action will be taken

Withdrawals

One clear calendar month’s notice in writing or a month’s fee in lieu of notice must be given before the pupil is withdrawn.

Those who leave school in between sessions must in all cases pay the fees for the month last attended. Transfer Certificate will not be issued until all the dues of the school are settled.

The Caution Money not claimed upto three (3) years from the date of notice of withdrawal, will be forfeited.

Details to be given for the T. C. Application:

  • Child’s Name, Class and Section.
  • Admission Number
  • Draft is made in the name of Father, specify in case of change.
  • Supporting documentation stating the reason for the transfer.
  • The last day / date of the child attending the school.
  • Parents' latest Contact Numbers.
